I received the phone before the estimated date. It's replacing my sons existing phone (iPhone 4S), which is older & has battery issues. Initially I had problems connecting to my Canadian carriers network (TELUS). The phone set-up & notifications indicated the phone was locked to Verizon & I wasn't using a Verizon SIM. I contacted the seller. The seller responded promptly & informed me the phone was unlocked. I was instructed to select my carrier within the Network settings. Once I had made the necessary changes the phone was working fine.
